About the role
CME Group operates a derivatives marketplace. This engineer will optimize database performance and reliability, improve observability, and lead high-availability and disaster-recovery work.
What you'll do
- Diagnose database bottlenecks, latency, lock contention, blocking, and deadlocks
- Analyze execution plans and tune SQL, indexes, partitioning, memory, and I/O
- Implement database partitioning, indexing, materialization, and caching strategies
- Establish database reliability SLOs and SLIs
- Set up and optimize high availability and disaster recovery
