About the role
DigitalOcean builds cloud infrastructure for developers and businesses, including managed database services. The Director will lead the engineering organization responsible for developing, operating, and improving a reliable customer-facing database service.

- Lead the engineering organization for DigitalOcean Managed Databases
- Develop and operate a reliable cloud database service at scale
- Set service reliability goals and improve incident response
- Guide database product engineering across replication, backups, scaling, and upgrades
- Build and retain a strong engineering team
- Partner with product, infrastructure, support, security, and go-to-market teams
