About the role
Collins Aerospace develops aerospace and defense technologies and products. This engineer selects and qualifies materials, investigates failures, and supports manufacturing, suppliers, and regulatory compliance.
What you'll do
- Select and evaluate materials for aerospace applications
- Develop and execute material characterization and qualification programs
- Investigate material and process failures and non-conformances
- Assess corrosion, fatigue, fracture, and environmental degradation risks
- Support engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams on compliance issues
- Develop technical standards, reports, and engineering recommendations
