About the role
Kong builds an API and AI connectivity platform for managing and securing API and AI traffic. You will build and operate distributed systems and gateway components, lead feature delivery, and improve the reliability of managed gateways.
What you'll do
- Design and operate highly available distributed systems for managed gateways
- Lead features from design through implementation and production rollout
- Build microservices and control-plane components for gateway products
- Participate in on-call rotations and improve production reliability
- Write automated tests, observability hooks, and reliability tooling
- Mentor engineers and contribute to the technical roadmap
