About the role
Toast provides software that helps restaurants and local businesses manage operations, sales, customer engagement, and employees. You will design and build backend platform systems and APIs, evolve architecture, and improve production quality and monitoring.
What you'll do
- Design self-service systems for app development, sandbox provisioning, and production release
- Define platform architecture, technology choices, and engineering best practices
- Build and maintain backend applications and APIs
- Improve integration and unit testing, code reviews, and production monitoring
- Mentor engineers and contribute to architecture and design reviews
- Use and evaluate AI tools in the development workflow
