About the role
Zillow provides a real estate platform and develops housing market metrics and forecasting products. The Applied Scientist will maintain metric publication, investigate data issues, strengthen pipeline validation, and partner with engineers on system improvements.
What you'll do
- Monitor recurring housing metric publication and resolve issues
- Investigate metric anomalies, suspected bugs, and data outages
- Design data quality checks and production validation workflows
- Partner with engineers to migrate pipelines and improve reliability
- Validate upstream changes against historical baselines
- Improve metric definitions, documentation, and operational workflows
