About the role
Scapia builds a travel-focused credit card experience that turns everyday spending into travel rewards. The Engineering Manager will lead backend engineers, guide architecture and reliability, and build the team and practices needed to scale the platform.
What you'll do
- Lead and develop a team of 5–10 backend engineers
- Own architecture decisions across APIs, services, data flows, and integrations
- Drive uptime, on-call health, incident response, and root-cause analysis
- Hire and onboard engineers and develop senior engineers into tech leads
- Partner with Product, Risk, Compliance, and external partners on technical solutions
- Improve regression testing and use AI to enhance the software development lifecycle
