About the role
Nyaaya provides accessible legal information to help people understand their rights and seek justice. The consultant will represent clients in civil and criminal cases involving women and children and support community-based legal empowerment work.
What you'll do
- Handle civil and criminal matters, including research, drafting, filings, court appearances and follow-up
- Take programme referrals and identify cases with potential for strategic litigation
- Review and manage cases referred by Samvidhaan Fellows
- Counsel clients and develop litigation strategies with the programme team
- Mentor Samvidhaan Fellows on legal processes, documentation and referrals
- Maintain case records, litigation trackers and periodic programme updates
