About the role
Cisco's MIG Platform Forwarding team develops high-performance data plane software for service provider networks and IOS-XR platforms. You will design, implement, debug, and optimize embedded forwarding features and NPU packet-processing logic.
What you'll do
- Design and implement forwarding features for the IOS-XR platform
- Write high-performance code for QoS, mirroring, OAM, and L2/L3 technologies
- Implement data plane logic and interact with NPU microcode and SDKs
- Debug defects using logs, core dumps, and packet traces
- Profile and tune code to reduce latency and improve throughput
- Use AI-assisted tools for code generation, tests, and static analysis
