About the role
Emergent builds AI coding agents that generate, test and deploy production applications from plain-language instructions. The Legal Counsel will advise the company on contracts, privacy, intellectual property, corporate matters and regulatory compliance while building its legal function.
What you'll do
- Draft, review and negotiate customer, vendor and partnership agreements
- Own data privacy compliance across applicable jurisdictions
- Advise on intellectual property and open-source usage
- Support fundraising, board governance and cross-border entity matters
- Guide product and engineering teams on legal considerations for AI and user data
- Build contract templates, playbooks and internal legal processes
