About the role
Ethos provides technology for consumers, agents and carriers to buy, sell and underwrite life insurance. The Senior Engineering Manager will lead platform teams and own the architecture, reliability and operational outcomes of systems used across engineering.
What you'll do
- Set platform strategy, technical direction and domain outcomes
- Hire, develop and retain engineers and engineering leads
- Partner with Product and Staff Engineers on roadmaps and quarterly planning
- Guide cross-team architecture, service contracts and data consistency
- Set standards for reliability, testing, incident response and on-call health
- Improve observability, runbooks, postmortems and toil reduction
